If you're a couple joining the EDE Programme from abroad travel requirements are kept to a minimum, Just two visits are required to Sims IVF*. Normally one for the semen freeze and one for embryo transfer.

For patients outside the UK, the initial consultation can be carried out either in person or by phone with a Sims IVF Consultant.

Once the arrangements are put in place by one of our Co-ordinators, the next step is to ensure that the appropriate infectious screening blood tests have been carried out and arrangements are made for sperm freezing at Sims IVF Clinic.

Usually there is a requirement for no more than two visits to the clinic in Dublin. However, the number of visits does depend on scanning, counselling and laboratory work being carried out by an approved local IVF clinic in your location.

Clearly there are individual aspects of care for your case that will alter according to your circumstances. These should be discussed with the Sims IVF Consultant or with one of the Co-ordinators to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible.

*In some unusual cases three visits.
