Semen Analysis

We perform semen analysis, which may be carried out at your local IVF clinic, if you reside outside Ireland. We reccomend that you perform a semen analysis at Sims IVF even if you have had one performed recently elsewhere (as the programme is all inclusive there is obviously no extra charge for this analysis). If however you do not wish to perform another semen analysis and have a recent (within 6 months) report from another IVF clinic that you can provide a copy of, this may be an acceptable alternative.

Semen Freeze

After the semen sample has been analysed and its quality assessed, you will be booked for a semen freeze appointment. Normally only one semen sample is required to be frozen but this does depend on the sperm quality and you will be advised by the embryologists if a subsequent sample is required.

Frozen sperm transported to Ukraine

The precious cargo of sperm travelling out and embryos travelling back to Sims is an integral part of the Sims EDE programme. We understand the importance of this part of the programme and that it proceeds without any risk to the samples. As such we do not entrust this process to a courier company, instead, your samples are accompanied by one of the Sims IVF Clinical staff (Embryologist, Doctor or Nurse), who does not leave the shipping container holding the samples until it is delivered, safely, to the laboratory staff of Intersono in Ukraine.
